Detailed Tour Itinerary

Day 1. Arrival in Lhasa

Upon arrival at Lhasa Gonggar Airport or Lhasa Railway Station, your Tibetan guide and driver will greet you with a traditional white scarf – a symbol of welcome and blessing. The airport is about 60 km from downtown Lhasa, while the train station is only 15 km away. Your guide will assist with luggage and escort you directly to your hotel.

The first day is kept entirely free to allow your body to begin acclimatizing to the altitude (Lhasa sits at 3,650 m). Rest in your hotel, drink plenty of water, and take a short walk if you feel comfortable. Your guide will be available to answer any questions and prepare you for the journey ahead.

Potala Palace

Important: Potala Palace tickets are limited and time‑specific. We secure your slot using your passport details – please share your passport with your guide immediately upon arrival.

Morning: Begin the day by visiting Potala Palace, a UNESCO World Heritage Site and the winter residence of the Dalai Lama. Note that the entry requires a visitation time ticket, so we’ll coordinate this based on availability.

Afternoon: We go to visit the spiritual heart of Tibet, Jokhang Temple, followed by a stroll through Barkhor Street, a vibrant marketplace steeped in local culture and pilgrimage traditions.

Evening: You will have time to explore the old part of the city on your own.

Tibet Nature Tour

Morning: Visit Norbu Lingkha Palace, the serene summer residence of the Dalai Lama. Set amid lush gardens and tranquil pavilions, it offers a peaceful contrast to the city’s bustling center.

Afternoon: Travel to Sera Monastery, one of Tibet’s great monastic universities. The highlight is the lively monk debates held in the courtyard, where monks engage in spirited philosophical discussions – a unique insight into Tibetan Buddhist scholarship.

Evening: Return to your hotel for a relaxing evening.

ATTRACTIONS:- Gampala Pass(4,900m), Yamdrok Lake, Nyinchen Khangsar Range, Karola Glacier, Pelkhor Choede Monastery& Tashi Lunpo Monastery;

On Day 4, you will depart Lhasa to drive across the countryside. The first attraction of the day will begin with traversing the Gampa La, a pass that rises 4,900 meters above sea level.

From the summit of the Gampa La Pass, you will enjoy a bird’s-eye view of Lake Yamdrok, also known as the turquoise lake due to its unique appearance. The Great Guru Padmasambhava meditated near Yamdrok Yutso Lake for three months and three days, making it one of the holiest lakes. During the auspicious periods of the Tibetan Lunar Calendar, Tibetans do a circumambulation around Lake Yamdrok in gratitude.

If the sky is clear and blue, you may also view the Nyinchen Khangsar Range, which has a peak that rises to a height of 7,300 meters.

On this day, you will cross another high pass named Karola Pass, which has a height of 5,000 meters.

From the Karola Pass, you will also see Tibet’s 7th biggest glacier (Karola Glacier).

How to get to Tibet

The Pelchoe Monastery will be your next stop. The monastery was founded in the 15th century, and it still has some of the original murals, dating back to that era.
Kumbum Stupa is located on the same premises as Pelchoe Monastery. The Kumbum Stupa has 9 floors and 108 cells in the building. The structure itself is a symbol of the Buddha’s body, speech, and mind. The stupa is also designed like a sacred mandala, which is a visualization tool used by Buddhists to train their minds on the journey to enlightenment.

ATTRACTIONS:- Traditional Tibetan local villages, Gyawo La Pass, Himalayan Ranges, Mt. Everest Base Camp, Rongbuk Monastery ;

Day 5 will be thrilling because Mt. Everest will be right in front of you. This day will cover another 350 km, but the drive will be worthwhile because you will cross incredible high mountains, such as Gyawo La Pass (5,100 m). From the summit of the Gyawo La Pass, you can have a breathtaking view of the Himalayan Ranges as well as all five of the world’s Eight-Thousanders. These eight thousand-meter-high mountains include Mount Everest, Mount Lhotse, Mount Makalu, Mount Quowuyu, and Mount Xixiabangma.

Continue your overland journey through Tibetan villages that are higher than 4,600 meters, and you will see how the Tibetans inhabited these mountains.
