Tour Itinerary

Day 1. Arrival in Lhasa;

Our Tibetan guide and Tibetan driver greet you at the airport or train station with a white scarf. This is a very traditional way of greeting a friend in Tibet.

The distance from the airport to Lhasa city is around 60 kilometers, while the distance from the train station to Lhasa is approximately 15 kilometers. We take it easy on the first day to acclimate to the altitude.

4 Days Lhasa City Sightseeing

ATTRACTIONS:- Potala Palace , Jokhang Temple & Barkhor street

Your second day in Lhasa focuses on acclimatization while exploring iconic landmarks. 

Morning: Begin the day by visiting Potala Palace, a UNESCO World Heritage Site and the former winter residence of the Dalai Lama. Note that entry requires a visitation time ticket, so we’ll coordinate this based on availability. 

Afternoon: we go to visit the spiritual heart of Tibet, Jokhang Temple, followed by a stroll through Barkhor Street, a vibrant marketplace steeped in local culture and pilgrimage traditions.

Evening: You will have your own time for exploring the old part of the city. 

ATTRACTIONS:- Norbu Lingkha Palace & Sera Monastery

On Day 3, delve deeper into Tibetan history and philosophy. Start at Norbulingka Palace, the serene summer retreat of the Dalai Lama, surrounded by lush gardens. In the afternoon, head to Sera Monastery, renowned for its lively monk debates on Tibetan Buddhist philosophy. We recommend timing your visit to witness this captivating ritual (typically held in the early afternoon).

No. Potala Palace tickets are limited and time-specific. We secure your slot using your passport details, so share your passport with your guide immediately upon arrival in Lhasa.

Dress comfortably:

  • Cover shoulders and knees (no shorts/sleeveless tops).
  • Comfortable walking shoes (stairs at Potala Palace!).
  • Bring a hat and sunscreen for day time sun.

The tour involves walking and stairs (e.g., Potala Palace has 1,000+ steps). While paced gently, participants should have moderate fitness. Let us know in advance if you need assistance.

Carry Chinese Yuan (CNY) in cash for small purchases (souvenirs, street vendors). There are lots of ATMs available in Lhasa. If you can use Ali-Pay or WeChat, it is the easiest to use.
